Bouncer of the Month: Laura Metcalfe

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our "Bouncer of the Month" series and proud to announce Laura Metcalfe as our very first winner! Laura is a dedicated and energetic bouncer and her commitment to bellicon Studio and great energy have been so appreciated. Keep up the great work Laura! Hear what Laura has to say about her experience at bellicon Studio and the results she has experienced as well as some tips for first time bouncers!
  1. Where are you from?

  2. What was your typical workout before coming to bellicon Studio?

    I would go to the gym and do the stair master or some other mind-numbing cardio machine while watching Netflix on my phone. Then, maybe I'd do some free weights... but it was really hard to stay motivated because I kept getting bored. Since starting my regular workouts at bellicon, I've given up my gym membership entirely! I find myself being a lot more accountable to myself and I'm committed to making this exercise part of my almost daily routine. Before, it was super easy to make up excuses to skip the gym.

  3. How did you find out about bellicon Studio?

    I found out about bellicon through constant googling to find a Chicago rebounding workout class. I got really into rebounding classes at the New York Health and Racquet Club in NYC before I moved to Chicago. After I moved here, I was super bummed and missed rebounding! Luckily, the bellicon studio is in my neighborhood (it was meant to be!) and I basically joined Class Pass as a way to subsidize the cost of the classes, as well as try a variety of other studios and workouts.

  4. What keeps you coming back to bellicon Studio classes? What is your favorite class and or instructor?

    I love that each class is completely unique, but I know I'm going to get a killer workout 100% of the time. It's super efficient, too. Like everyone else, I'm busy, so I like knowing I'm getting a total body workout in 45 minutes.

    I really like the Barre and Bounce class or just a classic Bounce class. I like that both of these classes mix strength training in with fun cardio bursts.

    Choosing a favorite instructor is tough - everyone here is amazing! I've really enjoyed Jeremy's classes, but be prepared for some crazy fast cardio! 

  5. What results have you seen or felt from coming to bellicon Classes?

    I definitely have increased energy in my day to day life. I can tell my core is a lot stronger, and my legs, booty, and arms (totally unexpected!) are much more toned. 

  6. What advice would you give a first time bouncer who is new to bellicon Studio?

    Be prepared to have fun, and sweat :) you're not going to fly off the rebounder, you're not going to look stupid, and you're going to want to come back for more! And if you're nervous, bring a friend (and go get brunch afterwards and laugh about how a trampoline workout just kicked your butt!)
